Catherine Tate is a comic genius - performer and writer.
Nominated for an EMMY (2005 - Best Performance by an Actress) and for four BAFTAs, Tate appeared in THE RUNAWAY BRIDE as Donna Noble and rejoins DOCTOR WHO on a "full-time" basis in SERIES 4 (announced on 4 July 2007).
Her eponymous BBC comedy series, THE CATHERINE TATE SHOW has spawned iconic characters - Lauren Cooper and Joannie "Nan" Taylor - and has even tempted both British Prime Minister, Tony Blair and current DOCTOR WHO lead, David Tennant to appear within the show (in COMIC RELIEF specials).
She even had the envious pleasure of garnering a complaint from the British Monarchy (from the 77th Royal Variety Performance as her character, Lauren, allegedly insulting Prince Philip).
The final THE CATHERINE TATE SHOW was broadcast on Christmas Day 2007. Born (birth name is Catherine Ford) on 12 May 1968, Bloomsbury, Central London. She has one child with her Partner, Twig. Lives in Mortlake, London.
On appearing in DOCTOR WHO SERIES 4:
I am delighted to be returning to Doctor Who. I had a blast last Christmas and look forward to travelling again through time and space with that nice man from Gallifrey.
